Been doing some more body work....yipiee. The rain gutters over the doors have a ledge on them where they join the body...trying to get rid of that ledge so that the flow in a little more smoothly. Kinda sucks...but it'll be worth it I think. It's one of those detail things that make and break a vehicle.
I"ve also cut new gaskets for teh rear lenses on the tail lights.
Been breathing bondo dust all day...can't taste much and have a headache....

Today I cut out a new door panel out of some scrap material. I cut it too small. I didn't follow the priciple rule of carpentry...measure twice, cut once. I also removed the black vinyl that someone recovered the stock door panel with...the original is a very light cream color. Interesting to see the original door panels. They are heavily stained, and if I wasn't planning on custom door panels anyhow, I might consider just dying the stockers black.

I had my first meal in the '66 today. It was a Chik-fil-A sammich..yummy. I didn't even get the seats all greasy and mayo-ey. Today I also tore apart the RH headlight bucket and adjustment ring for a repaint. I'm not too concerned with how it looks, it'll be hidden once built, but I did want to get some paint on it to inhibit the rust that started to form. It's painted Raymond Black, a color used on Raymond fork lifts. I'll probably use quite a bit of this color in the repainting of various brackets, core support, etc. I also started my complete wiring schematic of the car, what fun that will be.
I'm a bit late in getting this up, but not so far behind that too much has been missed. The aim of this data-log is to do a day-to-day followup on the building of my 66 Ranchero. I'm doing this mainly for my benefit and amusement, but if someone else can find this useful, then hey....good for me...or them, I"m not sure which.
A complete and fully involved to the last detail (maybe, you know my memory) of mods/parts/etc...
Exterior-
Shaved door handles and locks
Dent repair on RH rear 1/4 panel (1/2 complete)
Dent repair (self caused, whoops) on both lower front fenders, etc
Dent repair on body ridge on topside LH front fender
Shaved front fender emblems
Shaved drivers side side mirror
Dent repair to roof
Interior-
Tuck and roll black padded dash (we got it that way, not stock)
1991 Mercury Sable seats, black velour, full power drivers, full manual w/ electric lumbar passenger (mocked, not mounted)
1991 Mercury Sable dome light (mocked, not mounted)
1992 Lincoln Town Car door lock pins
1976 Ford Torino window cranks
Thats all I can remember for the time being, I won't update the list as I remember more, I"ll make a new post. I really hope to update this everyday I do work, no matter how small and boring. So I expect this is whole spiel to be fairly long, fairly boring, and highly uninteresting until I get to the good parts (engine swap anyone?).
